Japanese-English Translator

We're currently seeking a small team of translators with a strong level of Japanese language proficiency to help with business, academic, and governmental negotiation and presentation.

Job Duties —

Be present in person and online for business meetings, offering live translation for Japanese and English speaking partners.
Assist with written translation for designs, websites, letters, official forms, contracts, and additional documentation.
Translate English to Japanese for live presentations and seminars.
Offer translation for additional materials and assist management as needed.

Requirements —

Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Applicant must living in the Metro Detroit area or willing to travel locally.
Advanced Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N1 or N2)
Advanced English language proficiency (C1 or C2)
Experience with Japanese business or international business practices are a plus.
Ability to travel within the United States and overseas is a plus, but not required.*

Compensation —

$50 per hour on a contract basis.

*Travel expenses as required for business trips including but not limited to: hotel lodgings, car rental, and meals will be provided by Night Owl DPM.
